Dunhill Ballad Group

Dunhill, Co. Waterford has been associated with Irish culture, music, dance and ballad group singing for many years. The original Dunhill Ballad Group formed many years ago and included local friends and neighbours.

The current group came together in 2003 and now perform regularly in a wide range of musical events. They take their inspiration from contemporary ballad styles, and enjoy the challenge of putting their stamp on the lesser known ballads. Although Anne writes the initial arrangements, the songs grow from the input of all the group.

In 2006 we released our first CD Slan Abhaile, which
was recorded at the Gaelach Gorm Theatre Waterford.

We have competed in various events throughout Ireland and abroad including:
In September 2006 we travelled to Newfoundland, Canada to take part in the Newfoundland Festival of the Sea. We were invited to sing on stage with Newfoundland’s Kevin Collins in November 2006. Throughout our time together we have participanted in various local fundraising functions.
